Have you ever looked at your life and wondered, “Is this all there is?”
Have you felt a quiet pull deep inside, as if something—Someone—was calling you to more?
You’re not alone. Many of us sense that we were created for something greater, something beyond what we can see. But between the noise of everyday life, the weight of past mistakes, and the fear of the unknown, it’s easy to ignore that still, small voice calling us forward.
Maybe you’ve heard God’s whisper in the quiet moments. Or maybe you’ve been running, unsure of what surrender really looks like. I get it—because I’ve been there. I’ve known Jesus since I was young, but for a long time, I wasn’t ready to fully give Him my heart. I thought I had to fix myself first. I thought I could handle life on my own.
But here’s the truth: you don’t have to have it all together to come to Jesus. In fact, He invites us as we are—mess and all.
This blog isn’t about religion, pressure, or perfection. It’s about relationship. It’s about stepping into the life you were meant to live—a life of purpose, peace, and identity in Christ.
So let me ask you:
What does it take to become the person you were created to be?
What are you willing to do to walk fully into your God-given purpose?
Are you ready to be transformed?
Are you ready to say yes to your destiny?
If so, keep reading. This might just be the turning point you’ve been waiting for.
The Bible tells us that we may have to suffer for a little while, but then God will come to rescue us (1 Peter 5:10). Still, we often choose to remain tangled in sin, stubbornly trying to do things our own way—even when we know there’s a better way. Why?
Pride.
Selfish ambition.
Fear of surrender.
But here’s the good news: it is possible to change. You can become everything God has ordained you to be. And the first step starts with surrender.
Surrender Starts With Letting Go
You may be carrying pain—fear, rejection, unforgiveness toward yourself or someone else. Please know: this isn’t a battle you need to face alone. In fact, it’s not a battle you’re meant to fight at all. Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. He made it clear: no one comes to the Father except through Him (John 14:6).
If you’re a Christian, or if you’re simply curious about what it means to have a personal relationship with Christ, the first step is this: ask Jesus to be Lord of your life.
That starts with a prayer—but more than the words, it’s about the posture of your heart.
You have a choice to make:
- Continue doing things your own way and hold on to control
- Surrender your life to God and trust that He is in control
If you’re ready to choose surrender, pray this prayer sincerely:
A Prayer of Surrender and Salvation:
Heavenly Father, I believe that You gave Your Son, Jesus, as the perfect sacrifice so that I could be saved and reunited with You forever. I believe He died on the cross to cover my sins—something I could never do on my own. I acknowledge Jesus as the Lord and Savior of my life, and I commit to honoring His name all the days of my life. I choose to follow Him and to seek Your Kingdom. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
If this is your first time praying this, CONGRATULATIONS and welcome to the Kingdom! All of Heaven is rejoicing because you’ve come home to your Creator.
And if you’ve prayed this before but have found yourself distant from Jesus, welcome home! Your Heavenly Father has been waiting with open arms.
What’s Next? Five Essential Steps
Your journey of faith has just begun. Don’t worry—God will guide you each step of the way. Here are five things you can do to start growing your relationship with Him:
1. Find a Church Community
Connect with a local or online church that believes in the Trinity—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. You need spiritual support, teaching, and fellowship.
2. Be Baptized
Baptism is a public declaration of your faith and an important step of obedience. It represents dying to your old self and rising into new life with Christ.
3. Get a Bible (or App)
Start reading God’s Word—it’s how He speaks to us. I recommend the NLT or NIV translations for beginners. Go at your own pace. Don’t rush. Just be consistent.
4. Listen to Worship Music
Worship helps shift your focus from your problems to God’s presence. It invites the Holy Spirit in and deepens your connection to Him. Here’s a playlist that you can download with some of my favorite worship songs. They give me life!
5. Pray Daily
Prayer is simply talking to God. It doesn’t have to be fancy. Try using this simple acronym to guide you:
- P – Praise God for who He is and what He’s done
- R – Revere Him (honor and worship His holiness)
- A – Ask for what’s on your heart
- Y – Yield—be still, and wait to hear from Him
God may speak through Scripture, a song lyric, a sermon, or even a quiet whisper. Stay open. He is always near.
Bonus: Join a Bible Study or Small Group
This is one of the best ways to grow your faith and surround yourself with others on the same journey. You may not connect with everyone, but God often uses community to encourage, teach, and strengthen us.
Faith is a Journey, Not a Destination
Your faith is a journey, not a one-time decision. Every day is a new opportunity to walk closer with God. The more you seek Him, the more He will reveal Himself to you.
You were made for more.
You were created with purpose.
And your destiny is found in Christ. So, are you ready?
He’s been waiting for you.
