Despite not being able to remember some of my most lucid imaginative explorations, I’ve always been a great dreamer. There’s this inner working that places these incredibly vibrant thoughts into my mind. These images are so vivid that sometimes I actually have a hard time remembering whether or not events actually occurred or if it was the magic of a dream.
You see, many times I am wide awake when these dreams come to me. Perhaps then they would be considered premonitions. But I believe a true vision isn’t just something you receive—it’s something you respond to. A dream without action is just a fantasy. But when you pair it with faith, purpose, and movement—it becomes destiny.
I’ve done a lot of talking, planning, organizing, researching, and praying. I’ve talked myself into action more times than I care to remember. I’ll think to myself, “Mercedes, you’ve got a rocking idea. People are going to love it! You have so much to offer.”
But almost instantaneously I can hear the whispers start to creep in with their taunts and criticisms. The whisper in the night that plants the seed of doubt.
“Who do you think you are? Why would anyone value your opinion? You have nothing of value to offer. You’re going to fail.”
I have heard these whispers my entire life. They aren’t loud and have never been audible. But they’re persistent. And over time, I’ve realized—they’re not coming from outside. They’re coming from within. They’re my own fears. My own insecurities. My own self-doubt.
And that’s when I discovered something powerful: I am my own biggest obstacle. I am the only one that is standing in the way of my success or failure. Not the critics. Not the market. Not the circumstances. Not the enemy (although he is a close contender). It’s me.
But here’s the truth: I also hold the keys. I have the authority to unlock the destiny that’s been written over my life. Not because of who I am—but because of who God is.
I’ve been Called. Commissioned. Chosen.
Jesus—the King of Kings—has given me a task. And I will not fail Him.
Not for my own glory, but for His.
Not to build my own platform, but to expand His Kingdom.
The world is hungry. Desperate. In need of hope, of truth, of love.
And I have the answer—not in myself, but in the Savior who lives within me.
So I go—not in fear, but in faith.
Not to promote myself, but to proclaim the name of Jesus.
As Kim Walker-Smith sings,
“King Jesus, You’re the name we’re lifting high,
Your glory shaking up the earth and skies.
Revival—we want to see Your Kingdom here.”
And I do.
With all my heart—I want to see His Kingdom come.
And if He chooses to use this dreamer, this mess of a masterpiece, to play a part in that?
Then I say: Yes, Lord. Send me.
Maybe you’ve been dreaming too. Maybe you’ve felt that same tug in your spirit—that holy discomfort that tells you there’s more. More than what you’re settling for. More than what you’ve believed about yourself. More than what the world has tried to label you as.
Here’s what I want you to know: you are called, too.
Yes—you.
God has placed something unique inside of you. A gift. A message. A purpose.
And it’s not just for you—it’s for the world. It’s for His Kingdom.
It’s time to stop shrinking back. It’s time to silence the lies of the enemy.
It’s time to rise up and walk boldly into the calling God has placed on your life.
Don’t wait for the perfect moment. Don’t wait to “have it all together.” Start now. Start today.
➡️ Ask God to reveal your purpose.
➡️ Write down the vision He’s placed in your heart.
➡️ Take the next step—no matter how small it seems.
You were made for such a time as this.
You were created on purpose, for a purpose.
So dream big. Pray boldly. Move confidently.
The Kingdom is waiting.
The world is waiting.
And Heaven is cheering you on.
Let’s go higher—together—for the glory of God.
